How to get to Harrogate

Most visitors arrive by train from Leeds or London, or fly to Leeds Bradford Airport (code LBA) and take a bus or taxi. Harrogate to Leeds takes about 35 to 37 minutes on a direct Northern train, usually every half hour in the day. To London King's Cross there are direct LNER trains, and timetable examples for summer 2026 show about 2 hours 48 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes. Manchester Airport (MAN) is the alternative if your flight is cheaper there. Plan the onward trip by train via Leeds.

Once you are in Harrogate, direct trains also run to Knaresborough and York. If you want to see the Dales as well, our Yorkshire Dales tours from Harrogate save you the planning.

Taxi and transfer from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA)

The airport is about 12 miles (19 km) from Harrogate.

A taxi ride takes about 20 minutes from the airport to the Convention Centre, and a guide figure for the fare is about £35. That is a rough guide, not a fixed 2026 tariff, so ask for the price before you set off. The airport has an official taxi service.

The cheaper option is the A2 airport bus between Bradford, the airport and Harrogate. In sample timetables it leaves the airport at 10:07 and reaches Harrogate at 10:44, with the same pattern an hour later, so allow 31 to 37 minutes. It runs roughly hourly in the day. The fare is at most £3 each way until the end of 2026. There is no railway station at the terminal: trains from nearby stations need a bus or taxi on top.
